The Memory of WAR THROUGH YOUR LENS

A Photo Competition about the Lebanese Civil War

What object, site, sound or person represents the Lebanese civil war to you?

How can you capture the memory of war in a still image?

The UNDP “Peace Building in Lebanon” project, with funding from Germany, is organizing a photo competition about the memory of the Lebanese civil war.

If you would like to contribute to constructing the memory of the war, share with us a photo that in your opinion represents the Lebanese civil war.

How to Participate

1.            The competition is open to persons of all ages.

2.            Send us a high-resolution photo (9 MB maximum) with a caption of 3 lines (Arabic, French or English) and your biography (2 lines) to the following email address: elite.shehadeh@undp.org

3.            Entries that do not meet the above criteria will not be selected.

4.            Deadline: March 20, 2018.

*In April, 10 winning photos will be featured in the “Peace Building in Lebanon” News Supplement (in its print and electronic versions)  published with Annahar, L’Orient Le Jour and The Daily Star newspapers.

Selected photos will be shown during an event to be organized by the UNDP to commemorate the Lebanese civil war.
