The Syrian Crisis

June 6, 2014

Lebanon is characterized by a fragile political stability, a deficient economic situation and structural regional imbalances prior to the Syrian conflict and the arrival of Syrian refugees. As a result, the impact of the Syrian crisis exacerbates the deficiencies of the country in general and the already difficult living conditions of host communities.

In this context, the report argues that there is a need to move away from a strictly relief response perspective based on the assessment of basic needs of both Syrian refugees and nationals.
