UNDP Lebanon Municipality of Saida receives waste dumpsters

The municipality of saida received 50 waste dumpsters as a symbolic contribution by the United Nations Development Programme and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees on September 11 in the framework of supporting municipalities and cities hosting increasing numbers of displaced Syrian refugees.

The head of saida municipality Al Saoudi appealed to the international organizations and the United Nations to provide additional support and assistance to the displaced Syrians and alleviate their suffering, pointing out that the city of Sidon and Palestinian refugee camps are hosting the largest number of refugees in Lebanon, which requires urgent international assistance. And without the intervention of the international organizations and civil society in Saida, the situation would have been disastrous for the Syrian refugees.
